Capistrano Unified School District serves a wide area of communities, including cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, and San Juan Capistrano, just to name a few. Capistrano Unified School District also serves the unincorporated communities of Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, and Wagon Wheel. Capistrano Unified School District has thirty-seven elementary schools, ten middle schools and five high schools. CUSD has fifty-six schools in all, serving fifty thousand students a year, with an annual budget of more than three hundred million dollars in the general fund alone.

 

To enroll in Capistrano Unified School District schools, parents must provide proof of residence in the district, plus immunization records for the students. Student transportation is available for children who live within certain boundaries. Elementary school students who live more than a mile from their Capistrano Unified School District school, middle school students who live more than one and a half miles from school, high school students who live more than two and a half miles from a Capistrano Unified School District school.
