The Gwinnett County Public Schools is a huge school district, in fact the largest in the state of Georgia.  Home to over 176,000 students the Gwinnett County school district is estimated to be the 15th largest school district in the United States.  The mission of the Gwinnett County Public Schools is to pursue excellence in academic knowledge, skills, and behavior for each student, resulting in measured improvement against local, national, and world class standards.  This mission statement is published on their website www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us .  Being a large school district the budget is 1.8 billion dollars with a cost per pupil of $8,156.  Most of the budget is spent on instructional services with school and general administration at just under 8.5% of the budget.
