The Miami Dade County Public Schools or M-DCPS serves all of Miami Dade County in Florida and was founded in 1885.  As the largest school district in Florida the Miami Dade Public Schools are responsible for educating over 379,000 students and features over 23,500 teachers.  The Miami Dade School District is not only the largest in Florida but the 4th largest school district in the United States.  Miami Dade offers 415 schools to the students, teachers and parents that make up the district.  Many languages are spoken within the district including English, Spanish and Creole.  The current superintendant is Alberto Carvalho who has been on the job since September 2008.
