The San Jose Unified School District is located in San Jose, California. It serves about 32,000 students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The San Jose Unified School District includes an area of over fifty miles and is the eleventh largest urban school district in the state.
The San Jose Unified School District is about 50 miles away from San Francisco, and is just one of 33 different districts that operate within San Jose. Like many other districts, the San Jose Unified School District is facing a drop in enrollment; however, they continue to focus on academics with staff and parental support and are hopeful about reversing this trend.
There are 31 elementary schools with the San Jose Unified School District, as well as, seven middle schools and seven high schools. The student population is as diverse as the town itself, which makes the San Jose Unified School District unique in that it has a sensitivity and focus on working with people of all different cultures.
